About the RoleThe post holder will join the Barts Health Band 6 musculoskeletal rotations based at Whipps Cross Hospital and its community sites. They will have the opportunity to work alongside various specialties including Orthopaedic, Rheumatology, and Community Pain clinics. Responsibilities include supervising a Band 5 physiotherapist and students, providing appraisals, teaching, and clinical support, as well as managing demanding caseloads.

There will be roles linked to Band 7-line managers to facilitate managerial and leadership qualities, such as GP liaison, education, and Musculoskeletal Audit champion. The department offers an excellent evidence-based in-service training program covering each joint with theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and clinical implementation. External courses with free places are also available. The MSK Therapies team includes a strong Band 8 strategic and clinical leadership team supporting the physiotherapy service.

Candidate ProfileWe are seeking a qualified Physiotherapist with MSK experience, registered with the HCPC. Ideally, candidates will have completed an Orthopaedic inpatient rotation and possess a solid knowledge of musculoskeletal physiotherapy principles. Experience treating peripheral and spinal patients is essential. The role involves face-to-face and virtual assessments and treatments. Evidence of project management and audit involvement is desirable.
