The Pontypool Medical Centre is a well-established surgery with approximately 18,500 patients located in Pontypool, currently have a fantastic opportunity for a General Practitioner to join their close-knit team. You will work autonomously alongside our welcoming and supportive Nursing and Administration team.An excellent opportunity to develop skills and broaden experience within this proactive surgery.We offer the opportunity to work alongside our 2 Pharmacists, 3 ANP''s, Home-visiting paramedic, and experienced admin team.Main duties of the job
Your responsibilities as a General Practitioner; The following are the core responsibilities of the General Practitioner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:Perform clinical examinations of patients to assess, diagnose and monitor conditionsCarry out patient consultations at home and within the surgeryMonitor patients'' conditions and wellbeingDiagnose and treat various illnesses/ailmentsCarry out minor surgery where requiredLiaise with other healthcare professionals (e.g., midwives, pharmacists, health visitors, and psychiatrists) as part of multidisciplinary teamsOpportunity to become involved with Enhanced Services such as:DiabetesSubstance Misuse ClinicWith our existing team including two GP trainers, there is plenty of scope to increase your own skills and also become involved in the training of new clinicians.About us

Qualifications
Member of the GMC RegisterExperience of working in a primary care and urgent care environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skills written, verbal and particularly listeningClear understanding of professional responsibility and accountabilityGood clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and management of acute Primary care presentationsDisclosure and Barring Service Check
