Clinical Lead Speech & Language Therapist: Head, Neck, ENT And Voice

The post holder will provide direct clinical and operational leadership for a team of Head and Neck and Voice SLTs working within St George''s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This team provides services to Head and Neck oncology, general ENT, OMFS, and Voice/respiratory and laryngology services. The post holder will line manage team members, complete appraisals, provide clinical supervision, oversee clinical caseload management, service development, and governance. They will also provide joint sessions, second opinions, and highly specialist treatment and advice for patients across the acute caseload.The post holder is expected to lead collaborative working with patients/clients, carers, colleagues in health, the voluntary sector, and social services in planning and delivering services. They will work with consultants, GPs, and multidisciplinary teams within the Trust to ensure coordinated service delivery.Main duties of the job
Provide expert leadership and governance oversight to the SLT ENT Teams.Independently manage highly complex clients within ENT/Oncology and OMFS caseloads, making differential diagnosis and clinical management decisions based on assessment evidence, often weighing complex clinical indicators.Develop and maintain expert clinical competence and deliver expert clinical services through the SLT team across all clinical areas mentioned.Develop and implement expert-level Speech and Language Therapy treatment programs, ensuring service quality and evaluating outcomes.Stay updated with new techniques and developments in tracheostomy management, FEES, and VFS to promote excellent practice.Provide specialist clinical skills for interpretive assessment techniques such as AAC communication.Lead and coordinate ENT Specialist Speech and Language Therapy extended scope clinics at St George''s Hospital and Queen Mary''s Hospital, liaising with other professionals and referral agencies, and providing training to colleagues as appropriate.St George''s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust provides services from two main hospitals, St George''s Hospital and Queen Mary''s Hospital, and two health centres, St Johns Therapy Centre and The Nelson Centre.
