Overview

Birth Centre Coordinator role at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust. The post holder has responsibility for the management and co-ordination of a midwifery team / clinical and specialist area. This includes the deployment, supervision and teaching of junior midwives and students. The overall objective is to work as a clinical and managerial leader taking responsibility for the co-ordination of a team of midwives in a clinical area within the hospital, providing antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care for women with both low and high risk. This includes homebirth services and midwifery-led care services. The post holder, in conjunction with the Clinical Midwifery Manager / Modern Matron, is responsible for leading change in clinical practice, providing high quality twenty four hour midwifery care within available resources and enacting the maternity unit’s risk management policy, facilitating the implementation of Clinical Governance within the maternity unit and in the community.We are proud of our staff and want to ensure their training allows them to provide excellent clinical care.
