We have an opportunity for a salaried GP to join our friendly team of 5 partners and 5 salaried GP''s across our 2 practice sites in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold town of Cirencester, are you recently qualified or ready for a new challenge?The right candidate will be able to commit to working 6 sessions per week. Thepost-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needsin a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for allregistered and temporary patients.6 sessions per week, days to be discussed.Sessions are a mix of telephone and face to face with minimal home visitsParticipate in the duty clinical triage team rota with our minor illness nurse and paramedic.Support the teaching and supervision of medical students and GP trainees.About us

Clinical responsibilities:In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashionMaking professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisationAssessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illnessDeveloping care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocolsProviding counselling and health educationAdmitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriateRecording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriateIn general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Other responsibilities within the organisation:Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safetyA commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practiceContributing to evaluation/audit and clinical standard setting within the organisationContributing to the development of computer-based patient recordsContributing to the summarising of patient records and read-coding patient dataAttending training and events organised by the practice or other agencies, where appropriate.Person Specification
Qualifications
GMC registration with no restrictionsFully qualified GPMember of a defence unionCurrently on a performers listHighly motivated, enthusiastic, dedicated and reliable GP who is friendly, caring and professional.Strong clinical skills with an evidence based approach to patient care.Ability to manage workload, time and patient related administration effectively.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Good interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with multi disciplinary teams.Disclosure and Barring Service Check
