We are looking to recruit a Team Manager - Children in Need within the Social Care industry in Harrow
The duties for the team manager job can include up to the following:
Minimum of 3 years post qualification children and families work
- 3 years statutory work, including child protection
- Literacy and numeracy to the required level
- DipSW/CQSW equivalent
- Post qualifying supervision of SW''s or students
- Basic training in management competencies
- Children Act/Child Protection Training
Knowledge of:
- Child care legislation and relevant guidance, regulations and standards of best practice
- Family Court procedures
- DOH Guidance, Working Together To Safeguard Children and the Assessment Framework
- Awareness of Issues arising from child abuse inquiries
- Responsibilities of SSD in relation to children and families
- Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
Ability to plan, manage and review service delivery
- Provide effective leadership, management and supervision to the designated teams whilst monitoring standards and service delivery
- Take a key role in the planning and implementation of local service developments and improvements in Children and Young People''s service to meet local and national priorities
- Ensure regular performance management, including supervision and mentoring is carried out with specialist officers
- Provide professional advice and support to direct reports, other disciplines, multi agencies and the general public
- Lead on the introduction of new policy and procedures in relation to professional practice, ensuring they are integrated within social work practice
- Participate in research, audit, benchmarking activities and develop, implement, monitor and review quality monitoring and performance management methods and systems
- Produce regular management information and reports
- Monitor service user satisfaction, investigating complaints and incidents within the service area
- Undertake regular workload and caseload reviews and facilitate the production of caseload profiles from caseload holders in the service area
- Identify areas requiring audit, develop effective audit tools and undertake quality assurance audits, provide timely and accurate reports on performance and develop improvement action plans
- Work in partnership with other key professionals within the organisation and a variety of external agencies
