This job is brought to you by Jobs/Redefined, the UK''s leading over-50s age inclusive jobs board.Job DescriptionCostain are working with Thames Water on a variety of water and wastewater projects and have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to join our growing AMP8 delivery team, working predominantly across the Thames Valley and Thames South regions.The Procurement and Supply Chain Management function is responsible for the interface with those third-party organisations who support our business whether that be for procurement of goods and services or the relationship management that underpins any such activities. They support project delivery teams across the sectors to ensure the strategic direction is identified and delivered.This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in the sector, driving efficiency, sustainability, and innovation within the procurement and supply chain functions.The Senior Procurement and Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for creating, leading, and implementing robust Procurement and Supply Chain strategies for major programmes of work This pivotal role involves close collaboration with Senior key Stakeholders, end clients, the Sector Heads of Procurement and the wider Procurement and Supply Chain Team. The key requirement for this role is to ensure that the sector''s Procurement and Supply Chain needs are met and where possible exceeded as well as ensuring alignment to group Procurement and Supply Chain strategies.ResponsibilitiesJob ResponsibilityDeveloping a strategic approach for Procurement and Supply Chain Management across major programmes and ensuring that robust strategies are developed and implementedEnsure that responsible Procurement is delivered across allocated projects developing and supporting project delivery teams whilst remaining aligned to group PandSC targets and objectivesEnsure a robust and structured supply chain exists and is correctly deployed in support of both work-winning and successfully delivering projects / frameworksSupport implemented category management approach within the sector to leverage spend and performance whilst staying aligned to group category management strategiesSupport the drive towards ESG, including SME development, social value creation, zero carbon solutions, promoting safety. Ensure alignment with Head of Sustainable Procurement and Relationship Management on approachPromote collaboration between the business and the supply chain to unlock value through innovation and best practice where appropriate using the principles of ISO44001Ensure strong governance is followed and adhered to, ensuring the business is not exposed to unnecessary risk and that effective performance management of the supply chain is undertakenWork closely with the Central Procurement function to ensure compatibility between activities of respective functionsEstablish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with terms and conditionsDevelop relationships with client''s Supply Chain and Procurement teams, participating in their initiatives to assist them in achieving their goalsEnsure data is produced and used to allow effective decision makingContinuously improve procurement and supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
