The role is ideal for a mechanically focused professional with a strong understanding of plant maintenance, project planning, and compliance within a fast-paced, technically complex environment. Role Overview The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for: Leading the Mechanical Maintenance Department and acting as line manager to a team of Mechanical Technicians. Ensuring all mechanical systems and assets are maintained in line with operational standards and statutory regulations. Planning, resourcing, and executing scheduled shutdowns, plant upgrades, and preventive maintenance programs. Managing mechanical failures and faults efficiently while maintaining detailed reports and records. Overseeing external contractors and suppliers to ensure quality, safety, and cost-effectiveness of mechanical services. Maintaining compliance with relevant safety regulations including PSSR and LOLER. Supporting plant improvements, obsolescence planning, and spare parts management. Assisting in audits and acting as a support to the Maintenance Manager when required. Collaborating with Electrical, Controls, and Instrumentation
