This is a key leadership role overseeing the mechanical maintenance department and ensuring the ongoing reliability and performance of a large-scale EfW plant.As Mechanical Engineer, you ll be responsible for delivering both routine and outage-based maintenance, managing a team of technicians, and leading continuous improvement and upgrade projects across the plant.As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for: Line management of the Mechanical Maintenance TeamPlanning, resourcing and supervising scheduled shutdown maintenanceDiagnosing and resolving plant failures and mechanical defectsManaging contractors and ensuring statutory compliance (e.g. PSSR, lifting equipment)Monitoring plant reliability and supporting with audits, budgets, and spares planningSupporting the Maintenance Manager with internal and external stakeholder communicationWorking on a days basis Monday to Friday, with an element of call out if requiredOther duties as required Requirements: HNC (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalentMinimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a relevant engineering environmentStrong experience with rotating equipment, pressure systems, and planned maintenanceBackground in Energy from Waste, Power, or Process indu
