Lab Technician (Microbiology)

Lab Technician - £13.30-£17.84 PH 36 hours 6 months Working within a Research and Development in Food lab this role is to provide hands on assistance to support the operation and goals of the laboratory by supporting experiments and projects under technical guidance. Duties are to work safely in a lab, maintaining excellent housekeeping, follow quality procedures to meet the requirements of quality standards, prepare lab tasks using the appropriate scientific techniques, procedures and methods, perform lab tasks following specified methodologies, such as SOP, produce accurate data and keep accurate records of lab work and results, apply scientific techniques for data presentation and statistics, support testing team with activities such as plate counting, data recording and appropriate entry, IMS, cleaning and disinfectant. The role would be a first step for someone coming straight out of uni (science degree) or school (science in A levels) as this would be a first step into a microbiology environment, not essential to have previous work experience or a Microbiology background as training will be given.
