TeacherActive is partnering with a secondary school in Wiltshire to recruit a committed Learning Support Assistant to join their resource base team. This key role involves providing personalised 1:1 support to students with additional needs, focusing on learning, emotional regulation, and social development.

You’ll work closely with the pastoral and teaching teams to help ensure every student receives the support they need to thrive. Experience working with SEND, particularly Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and SEMH, will be highly valued.

This is a long-term role with excellent potential for progression or permanent placement, supporting students primarily in Key Stages 3 and 4 within a collaborative and nurturing environment.

• Deliver dedicated 1:1 support to students in the resource base

• Assist with emotional regulation and implement positive behaviour strategies

• Help students access the curriculum and develop essential life skills

• Work alongside pastoral staff to tailor support plans to individual needs

• Foster independence and resilience in the students you support

• Experience working 1:1 or in small groups with young people who have additional needs

• Knowledge of SEND, including Autism, speech & language needs, and SEMH

• A calm, compassionate, and proactive approach

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both the resource base and pastoral teams

• A clear understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols

• A meaningful, long-term role within a supportive school environment
