Financial Controller (12mth FTC)

Overview
We’re delighted to be working in partnership with an award-winning hospitality business as they look to appoint an experienced Financial Controller on a 12-month FTC basis.Reporting to the Finance Director, you will support and manage the Finance team (10), while working alongside key individuals in each of the Group’s entities. It will be a fast-paced role offering broad exposure to senior leadership and core business operations, and you will lead by example.Salary information: This range is provided by Gunn Financial Appointments. Oversee the day-to-day work of the Finance team and ensure the efficient and smooth running of the finance operations across the company, with high performance and engagement from the teamOversee timely and accurate production of monthly management accountsPrepare consolidated monthly management accounts including profit and loss and reconciliation of balance sheetReview and submit internal management information packs to key stakeholders and follow up on queriesReview and submit quarterly VAT returnsLead the preparation of year-end statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors and tax advisersEnsure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and regulatory frameworksCollate and review monthly payroll and liaise with external payroll bureauProvide support on tills, stock management and systems contractsComplete ad hoc Office of National Statistics surveysReview and authorise supplier payments for all entities alongside Finance DirectorProvide support in reviewing and analysing utility spend and business ratesProvide ad hoc reporting to support key decision makingRepresent Finance in key business initiatives, systems implementations, and strategic projectsIdeal candidate
Fully qualified with a strong Industry backgroundProven experience in a financial leadership role within a fast-paced environmentStrong understanding of financial controls, statutory reporting and internal complianceStrategic mindset to support decision making and influence change across the businessExcellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills with a proactive approach to problem solvingThe ability to manage and drive a high performing teamA collaborative team player with the credibility to influence at a senior levelRole details
