Salaried GP

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and caring Salaried GP to join our multi-disciplinary practice team for 4-6 sessions per week.We are a close working and dynamic team who are passionate about developing and delivering excellent quality local services to meet the needs of our patients.Due to our practice joining a Primary Care Network, we are looking to expand our practice team by seeking to employ a newly qualified Salaried GP under the ARRS scheme. Our team comprises of 4 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCAs and a supportive and dedicated Administrative Team.We have a strong culture of learning and staff development and will actively support and encourage development in any areas of special interest.Main duties of the job

KEY BENEFITS:Weekly clinical meetingsDaily protected coffee timeDefined sessions with no extrasFull indemnity costs covered by the practiceNHS pension provided6 weeks holiday and 1 week study leave (pro-rata) plus Bank HolidaysJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:ClinicalresponsibilitiesIn accordance with the agreed Practice timetable, the post-holder will undertake a variety of duties, including but not limited to:Conducting surgery and telephone consultations, addressing patient queries, and visiting patients at home.Checking, signing, and authorising prescriptions, while managing queries, paperwork, and correspondence in a timely manner.Making professional, autonomous decisions regarding presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred by other health care workers.Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed issues.Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.Developing careplans in consultation with patients, in line with current disease management protocols.Providing counselling and health education.Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions, avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible.Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary or generically, as clinically appropriate.Undertaking emergency patient visits during surgery hours, if clinically indicated.Participating in on-call sessions and home visiting sessions as allocated in the practice rota.OtherResponsibilities within the OrganisationAdhering to all relevant Practice policies and guidelines, including those related to prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, and health and safety.Committing to lifelong learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practices.Contributing to evaluation, audit, and clinical standard setting within the organisation.Assisting in the development of computer-based patient records.Helping with the summarisation of patient records and Read-Coding patient data.Attending training and events organised by the Practice or other agencies, as appropriate.In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary carePerson Specification
Experience
Experience of working in a primary care environmentExperience of continued professional developmentExperience of QOF and clinical auditNewly Qualified General Practitioner (with under 2 years from qualification)Not previously been substantively employed at a GP PracticeGeneral understanding of the primary care contractExperience of medicines managementExperience of ICB initiativesQualifications
