We arelooking for a passionate doctor to join our friendly team of 4 partners and 6 salaried GPs to work 4 -6 sessions per week. We have an excellent clinicalsupport team of 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, a Practice Pharmacist, 3 Practice Nurses, 3 Health Care Assistants and 1 Phlebotomist.We arelocated in new (November 2012), purpose built premises in North Shrewsbury and havea list size of 17,000. We are both a training and a teaching practice and prideourselves on delivering excellent patient care. Clinical Responsibilities : The post holder willbe expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associatedwith a GP working within primary care. The following list is not exhaustive:In accordance with the Practice consulting schedule, asagreed, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a varietyof duties including surgery consultations, taking part in the GP duty rota(minimum 1 session duty per week) telephone consultations and queries, visitingpatients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing withqueries, patient test results, patient medical reports and examinations (e.g.insurance companies) on behalf of the Practice.Making professional autonomous decisions in relation topresenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health careworkers.Recording clear and contemporaneous IT basedconsultation notes to agreed standards.Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute andrepeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).Making referrals to other health care providers (NHSand private) in line with national and local guidelines and pathways.Prescribing in accordance with locally agreed ornational guidelines.Assist with the clinical supervision and training ofPractice staff and others as agreed.About us

Severn Fields Medical Practice was formed bythe merger of Haughmond View Medical Practice and Mount Pleasant Medical Centrein April 2016, in the North East of the beautiful market town of Shrewsbury.The Practice has a patient population of approximately 17,000. The Practice iscommitted to delivering high quality patient-focused care for our localpopulation. We have a friendly and dedicated practice team.The practice is located in large purposebuilt premises on Sundorne Road in the North East of the beautiful county townof Shrewsbury. Since moving in, other parts of the building are now used by theSexual Health team, Fertility team and the Mental Health trust now have this astheir main hub for administration and community clinics. The Severn Fields Medical Practice Partners and thePractice ManagerJob Summary:To be familiar with Good Medical Practice and followthe guidance it contains as directed by the General Medical Council.To work as a member of the multidisciplinary Practiceteam to provide general medical services. Qualifications

A degree in medicine recognised by the General Medical Council (GMC)Specialist training in General Practice with Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent reciognised by the GMC.GMC Full RegistrationMembership of a recognized defence union (MPS/MDU/MDDUS)Currently on a performers list and never been removed from a performers list for a detrimental reasonUnderstands the importance of evidence-based practice and clinical effectivenessEvidence of recent self-directed learning or developmentA good understanding of Clinical Governance and quality issues as well as current health and social policyAbility to work as part of a multidisciplinary teamSelf-motivated and hardworking with the ability to stay calm under pressureEmpathetic, honest, caringExperience of GP clinical IT systemsPersonal circumstances that allow for occasional flexibility outside normal working hoursMRCGPRecognised qualifications for GP registrar training or teachingDRCOGDSRHDCHExperience of EMIS Web clinical systemDisclosure and Barring Service Check
