Overview

This is a replacement Consultant post within the Department of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at King''s College Hospital. The post can be tailored to reflect the successful candidate''s specialist interests. The postholder will join an established team of five Consultants and contribute to the delivery and development of the tertiary paediatric respiratory service. They will work as part of the multi-disciplinary Paediatric Respiratory, Complex Asthma, and Cystic Fibrosis teams, providing high-quality care to patients and supporting the ongoing development of respiratory services within the Trust. They will also contribute to consolidating the department''s position as the leading provider of tertiary paediatric respiratory services for South London and the Southeast, and to the further development of outreach services, building on the existing cystic fibrosis clinical network.Main duties of the jobThe post will be based at King''s College Hospital and the proposed 10 PA Job Plan is attached. This will be reviewed within three months of the postholder commencing the post. There will be an average of 8.56 Programmed Activities of Direct Clinical Care, with the remainder being allocated for Supporting Professional and/or other Activities. The On-Call commitment is for a 1:6 paediatric respiratory rota, which is classed as Category B.All employees are expected to undertake work on any of the Trust''s sites as required by the service. This includes all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties for the proper functioning of the Care GroupShared responsibility with other colleagues for providing 24 hours, 7 days a week cover for the Unit on a rota basis.
