SEN Teaching Assistant - Full time!

Hours: 8am - 3:30pm - Mon - Fri

Pay Rate: -106 and up based on experience!

Start Date: ASAP (after passing background checks)

Location: Salford

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs? We are seeking dedicated staff to join a specialist SEN school in Salford, working with pupils aged 9-19 who have a range of SEMH and SEN needs. Many of the pupils are operating below their chronological age academically and require personalised, communication-focused support to help them thrive.

Role Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH and SEN needs, focusing on communication development and social interaction.

• Work with students who are working at lower academic levels than their peers, ensuring lessons and resources are accessible.

• Deliver 1:1 and small group interventions using approaches such as PECS, Makaton, visual timetables, and structured routines.

• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement EHCP targets and individual learning plans.

• Support with building pupils'' confidence, resilience, and independence through positive and consistent engagement.

• Foster an inclusive and nurturing environment where pupils feel safe, valued, and encouraged to progress at their own pace.

Requirements:

• Prior experience in care, support work or education.

• Familiarity with SEN and SEMH needs, particularly communication support strategies.

• Ability to motivate and engage pupils through creative and individualised approaches.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

• Strong resilience and adaptability when supporting students with challenging behaviours.
