Teaching Assistant

We are currently seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive secondary SEN school in Rochdale, working with pupils aged 11-19 who have a range of complex needs, including autism, sensory processing difficulties, communication challenges, and learning disabilities.
About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with complex needs
Assist with personalised learning programmes and behaviour support strategies
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
Support pupils with personal care, mobility, and feeding as required
Help pupils develop communication, social, and life skills
About You:
We are looking for someone who is:
Passionate about working with children and young people with special educational needs
Calm, patient, and nurturing in their approach
Experienced (or willing to be trained) in supporting children with complex learning and medical needs
A strong communicator and team player
Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Previous experience in a similar setting is desirable but not essential - a positive attitude and willingness to learn are key.
