Category Manager (Rochdale, GB, OL16 4NR) – Danish CrownJoin to apply for the Category Manager role at Danish Crown.Responsibilities
Collate the relevant data and insights to develop understanding of the current and potential bacon and gammon consumer profile (demographic, lifestyle, usage and attitudes, shopping and consumption behaviour).Propose consumer segmentation and archetype mapping to guide strategic decisions around product and packaging development.Provide expert, insights-based perspectives on broader consumer and occasion trends (e.g. convenience or health) that impact the bacon and gammon categories and wider MFP category.Identify opportunities for modernising gammon (product recipes, cooking formats, packaging formats, etc.) using qualitative and quantitative data.Present strategic recommendations internally to NPD / technical / procurement following the Danish Crown innovation pipeline process.Present insight-backed strategic propositions to Danish Crown’s retail customers for mutual category growth.Prepare and present business cases for CAPEX investment as needed.Lead testing of new concepts, recipes, and pack formats with consumers, in collaboration with the UK Marketing team and/or retailers’ category teams.Job Requirements
Category Strategy Development: Develop and execute category strategies that align with Danish Crown UK’s objectives, focusing on growth opportunities within the Bacon and Gammon category.Data Analysis and Insights: Use market data, consumer trends, and competitor analysis to identify opportunities and translate insights into actionable strategies.Retailer Relationships: Build and maintain relationships with retail buyers, presenting category insights and strategic recommendations to drive mutual growth.NPD Collaboration: Work with internal NPD teams to guide product and packaging innovation with consumer insights and category expertise.Presentation Skills: Prepare and deliver presentations to retail buyers and senior management to secure CAPEX investments for strategic initiatives.Performance Monitoring: Monitor category performance against KPIs and implement corrective actions as needed.Seniority level
