Substantive Consultant Medical Oncologist (Breast)Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (Royal Free and Chase Farm Health Units)10 Programmed Activity contract. The post-holder will work with medical and clinical oncology colleagues at the Royal Free, Chase Farm and Barnet health units and will be essential for service provision as well as development of oral SACT clinics. The successful candidate should have experience working within a multidisciplinary team and broad Medical Oncology experience, with a focus on breast management. For enquiries, contact Dr Neha Chopra, Clinical Service Lead for Oncology at Royal Free Hospital (neha.chopra@nhs.net).Main duties of the jobJoin the oncology team at the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust (RFL) as a 10PA Permanent consultant in breast cancer.Develop and support the breast medical oncology services at the Royal Free, Chase Farm and Barnet health units.Lead the development of oral SACT clinics across RFL health units.Lead clinical trials in breast cancer.Attend the weekly tumour-specific breast MDTs.Take responsibility for the designated clinical workload including all relevant MDMs, out-patient clinics, and inpatient reviews.Participate in the consultant on-call rota for oncology at Royal Free health unit (1 in 18).Provide postgraduate teaching for junior staff.Provide clinical supervision for specialist registrars.Participate in undergraduate medical student teaching.Comply with all clinical governance processes and procedures of the Trust.Comply with Patients’ Charter and purchasers’ requirements.Act as departmental audit lead and participate in medical audit as per Royal College of Physicians guidelines.Maintain Continuing Professional Development accreditation as per Royal College of Physicians guidelines.Participate in the Trust appraisal programme and GMC revalidation processes.Working for our organisation
