R&D Tax Credits Consultant - Senior Associate

A career within Corporate Tax services will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet their tax obligations while managing the impact tax has on their business. You''ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. You''ll also help organizations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as providing advice on the tax implications of deals. Our team helps clients improve their tax functions to control risk and facilitate better decision-making. You''ll focus on helping businesses with tax strategy, ensuring tax compliance, increasing post-tax profits, and providing application support to achieve best corporate tax practices.About the role:We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Tax Innovation and Capital Incentives (ICI) team based within our London tax team. The team is diverse and collaborative, with a strong focus on growth and a wide range of clients across all industries including engineering, food and drink, manufacturing, financial services, and IT and software development.We advise businesses on HMRC incentives including Research and Development reliefs, Patent Box claims, and Capital Allowances claims, which are effective tools to reward innovation and technological development. Our aim is to deliver top-quality client experience in a way that differentiates us from our competitors.We operate as a local team (mainly based within offices in Central London and Watford) within a wider national network of ICI specialists, with hubs in key UK cities. Our team includes individuals with general tax, audit, and industry backgrounds, bringing different skills, qualities, and perspectives to ensure exceptional service delivery. The role will be client-facing from the outset, and you will typically start building effective working relationships with clients from day one, including leading communications yourself.What your days will look like:You will support and develop junior staff, sharing your knowledge and expertise through coaching and recognizing the need for all levels of the team to develop through practical application of legislation.You will take a leading role in managing client relationships, which can include managing deadlines, running parts of meetings, handling day-to-day queries, and establishing yourself as a trusted contact.You will work directly with Managers and Senior Managers to support them in managing client relationships and project delivery.You will prepare formal reports to support numerical claims for filing with HMRC.You will prepare project technical summaries to illustrate the innovation undertaken by our clients.This role is for you if:You have a sound understanding of RandD regimes, with experience in preparing both SME and RDEC claims.You have experience liaising with clients and producing supporting documentation.You demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple clients and stakeholders in a collaborative and diverse environment.Strong analytical and Excel skills would be beneficial in interpreting numerical data and compiling data.What you will receive from us:No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognizing and rewarding you fairly for your contributions.We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home, and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year, and much more.
