R&D Tax Credits Software & IT Specialist - Senior Associate

You''ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis, managing working capital, and profit sharing for partners. You''ll also help organizations understand the pricing implications of goods and services between related parties, as well as providing advice on tax implications of deals. Our team helps clients improve their tax functions to control risk and facilitate better decision-making. You''ll focus on helping businesses with tax strategy, ensuring tax compliance, increasing post-tax profits, and providing application support to achieve the best corporate tax practices.About the role:We are looking for a Senior Associate to join our Tax Innovation and Capital Incentives (ICI) team within our Listed and Inbound (LandI) tax team. The team has a strong focus on growth, serving a wide range of clients across industries including engineering, pharmaceuticals, food and drink, manufacturing, financial services, and IT and software development. This role is ideal for someone with a background in computer science/software engineering who enjoys learning about cutting-edge technologies and applying their knowledge in a client-facing role.Our team is part of a large national network of ICI specialists, offering some flexibility on location. Members come from diverse professional backgrounds, including general tax, audit, and industry sectors, bringing varied skills and perspectives to deliver exceptional client service. The role involves client-facing responsibilities from day one, with an expectation to establish and maintain effective relationships and lead client communications independently. Previous experience in RandD Tax credits is not essential.What your days will look like:Managing client relationships, including deadlines, meetings, queries, and establishing trust.Participating in interviews with client technical teams to support understanding of RandD tax legislation and identify qualifying projects.Preparing technical reports highlighting RandD activities across industries.Collaborating with internal teams to quantify eligible RandD expenditures based on client activities.Adding value for clients by leveraging expertise within the tax team and other service lines.Supporting and developing junior staff through coaching and knowledge sharing.Engaging in business development and seeking opportunities to expand work with existing and new clients.Managing multiple stakeholders across the national ICI network.Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge on industry developments and tax regulations.This role is for you if:You hold a Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Sciences, Technology, or have industry experience in software engineering or IT.You can identify and articulate research activities undertaken by clients.You possess strong written and verbal communication skills to lead client interactions and liaise effectively with teams, translating complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders.You are autonomous and proactive, capable of working independently and taking responsibility for your development.You have a passion for client service and enthusiasm to engage with clients at all levels.You have strong organizational skills to manage multiple clients and stakeholders.Excel and analytical skills are beneficial for understanding numerical claims and compiling data.You have good problem-solving skills, capable of thinking independently and proposing solutions.What you will receive from us:Our benefits are designed to support and recognize your contributions, regardless of your career or personal stage.
