Research Analyst (Newbuilding)

The HRP research division primarily supports our shipbroking business, providing valuable analysis of the global shipping markets and the geopolitical events that help shape them. Its day-to-day responsibilities include generating and distributing reports for clients, briefing Howe Robinson brokers on market developments, presenting bespoke findings to clients and satisfying the research needs of many stakeholders. In doing so, our research analysts ensure that Howe Robinson Partners is synonymous with expert, up-to-the-minute market insight. As an analyst, you will be expected to contribute meaningfully to generating a house view of the new building markets.Key Accountabilities:Produce and deliver presentation slides to support team members with new and ongoing projects and initiativesAssisting with clients’ requests and queriesRegular market briefings to brokersWork closely with the sector-specific Research teams within HRPLiaise with new buildings and sale and purchase brokers across global HRP offices to keep the information flow up to dateWork closely with desk data analyst on regular client reports and to identify areas of improvement in key databasesUse statistical methods of research to identify trends within the data and provide key insightsAdditional / ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the businessHRP’s business is first and foremost about building internal and external relationships, so you will need good interpersonal skills and the ability to form effective professional networks quickly.Role Requirements:Academic background preferably in a quantitative subject such as finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, etc or shippingMinimum 3 years of analyst/research experience in the shipping marketTechnical knowledge of oceangoing fleetGood command of Microsoft ExcelStrong presentation, analytical and organisational skillsAbility to write technically and concisely or deliver analysis verbally in an engaging style about complex subject mattersProactive approach to data and information managementAbility to work both as a team and as an individual when handling client requests or undertaking value-added projects and analysisDesired Experience:Knowledge of alternative fuelsCompensation: Market CompetitivePlease email:
