The Defence Infrastructure Cost Centre provides support to projects that range in complexity and size with our service offerings spanning across Programme and Project Management, Project Planning, Cost Engineering, Risk Management, and Commercial Disciplines. We provide support to the full project lifecycle both pre-contract and post contract, delivering infrastructure projects on behalf of our clients, that range from several hundred thousand pounds in value to major projects and programmes worth over £200M. There is an ongoing need to expand our team to support the Defence client portfolio while enabling career development on a range of complex commissions.Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Controls Manager/Engineer specialising in Risk for our Defence Sector operations in the South East and the wider United Kingdom. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our organisation and contribute to major defence projects and programmes.Responsibilities
Implement and maintain an integrated risk management process across project delivery environmentsFacilitate risk identification, assessment, and prioritisation through workshops and direct support to project teamsDevelop and maintain risk registers, ensuring visibility of threat/opportunity trigger pointsConduct qualitative and quantitative risk assessments to inform project contingency levelsUse risk data to inform planning and decision-making processesAssist in identifying and recording appropriate management responses to risksMonitor overall risk exposure and assess against remaining risk budgetsCollaborate with contractors to assess contractor-held risks and their impact on client-held risksProduce timely and comprehensive risk reports to effectively communicate threat and opportunity statusSupport the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategiesContribute to the continuous improvement of risk management processes and methodologiesQualifications
Desirable ExperienceProven experience in risk delivery roles on large-scale projects or programmes, preferably within the Defence sectorDegree in a relevant technical or management field, or equivalent qualifications and experienceMembership in a relevant professional body (e.g., Association for Project Management, Institute of Risk Managers, Project Management Institute)Strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologiesExpertise in threat mitigation and opportunity exploitation techniquesProficiency in integrated risk management processes, encompassing risk, cost, and scheduleCompetence with risk management tools such as PRA, @risk, and SafranFamiliarity with web-based database tools like ARM, Predict, or Power-BIExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and leadership abilitiesCapability to work under pressure and meet deadlinesKnowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations in the Defence sectorWorking in teams / Office and Site attendance
