The Role

We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and proactive Teaching Assistant for a long-term position. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers to support pupils with ASD in their learning, social development, and wellbeing. While experience in a special school or ASD setting is highly valued, we are also very interested in hearing from candidates with a mainstream school background who can bring fresh ideas and approaches to the role of Teaching Assistant.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-to-one and small group support as a Teaching Assistant to pupils with ASD and additional needs.
• Work with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored learning experiences.
• Foster positive relationships with pupils, promoting independence, confidence, and resilience.
• Support pupils'' behaviour, wellbeing, and social development as a Teaching Assistant.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures at all times.

About You:

• Experience working with children or young people, either in a mainstream or special school setting, ideally as a Teaching Assistant.
• A compassionate, patient, and resilient approach suitable for a Teaching Assistant role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively as a Teaching Assistant within the team.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to support learning.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
