Technical Assistant

to join our Fire laboratory in High Wycombe. As a Technical Assistant you will be performing a variety of tests on items such as roller shutters, fire doors, windows and building materials across our fire, smoke and acoustics laboratories. Our testing determines whether our clients'' products perform as intended.Responsibilities

Fabrication of supporting constructions of fire, smoke and acoustics test specimensFabrication of specialist constructions required for fire, smoke and acoustics testsInstallation of fire, smoke and acoustics test specimensInstrumentation of fire, smoke and acoustics test specimensConducting fire, smoke and acoustics testsDemolition and disposal of test remainsMaintenance of laboratory, test equipment and safety equipmentSkills / Qualifications

A good general level of educationIdeally experienced in the construction industry or similarPreference would be given to individuals experienced in fire safety testingCapable of using a variety of hand toolsDemonstrable ability to learn quickly and absorb new skillsExcellent time management skillsExperience of meeting deadlinesCan follow instructions and procedures accurately and in a timely and efficient mannerForklift licence/experience would be an advantage, although full training will be providedBenefits
