Job Title: Senior Quantity surveyor

Salary: £40k -£60K plus Package DOE

Company & Project: 

We are working with a well-established social housing contractor who are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated SQS to take ownership of key refurbishment and maintenance projects across the housing sector.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead on cost control, valuations, and commercial reporting across social housing projects.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, payments, and procurement.
• Prepare, submit, and negotiate variations and final accounts.
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget, maximising profit and minimising risk.
• Provide commercial support to project teams and mentor junior surveyors.
• Build strong working relationships with clients, supply chain, and internal stakeholders.

Desirable Experience & Skills:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within social housing, refurbishment, or planned maintenance.
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of schedule of rates, cost reporting, and contractual procedures.
• Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
• Confident communicator with the ability to build lasting relationships.
