Assistant Finance Business Partner

Overview
Assistant Finance Business Partner - Band 6/7 depending on experience. Jointly work with the Divisional Director, Finance Business Partner and senior managers to provide a comprehensive range of expert financial advice, training and support to enable delivery of services efficiently and economically, and to ensure achievement of financial targets. This role is based at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.Location: Tameside Hospital, Fountain Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL6 9RW. Band 6 with a salary of £38,682 to £54,710 per year. Permanent, full-time or flexible working patterns.Responsibilities
Provide financial support to assigned directorates with full compliance to best financial practice, including budget setting, financial budget reporting, forecasting of expenditure and income/activity, maximisation of income, and delivery of Trust Efficiency Programme Savings.Communicate complex financial information to non-financial managers to facilitate effective decision making.Support identification and development of service transformation and Trust Efficiency programmes and monitor achievements to meet strategic objectives.Deliver comprehensive financial analysis including reporting on covid expenditure, develop business cases, support the Trust Efficiency Programme and ensure delegated budgets are effectively managed.Qualifications
CCAB qualified accountant or working towards qualification; initiative, drive and ability to work in a complex, changing environment; commitment to quality improvements.Self-motivated with analytical mindset and exceptional communication skills; collaborative approach; ability to work with clinicians and budget holders.Strong communication skills, experience with stakeholders with competing requirements, and ability to meet tight deadlines.Essential Skills and Experience
Literate in modern IT software; excellent IT skills for manipulating large data sets.Strong understanding of accounting principles and practice; ability to deduce key points from large data sets.Ability to manage workload, prioritise, and lead others; strong presentation and interpersonal skills; analytical and problem-solving abilities.Experience providing financial advice to clinical/non-clinical managers and budget holders; experience supporting clinical redesign and cost efficiency; knowledge of NHS financial accounting systems and practices.Desirable
Degree or equivalent; experience in Finance Department; ability to interpret DH/Monitor guidance and improve financial systems.Other Requirements
