OverviewSenior Finance Business Partner role at Cambridge City Council. Are you a collaborative leader with a passion for public service and financial excellence? Cambridge City Council is seeking a Senior Finance Business Partner to lead a high-performing, client-focused finance business partnering service across a range of vital council services.
This is a pivotal role within our Finance Management Team, offering the opportunity to influence decision-making at the highest levels, drive innovation, and help shape the future of our city.
What You’ll Do
Play a key role in team leadership and development, championing our new business partnering approach within the team.
Build trusted relationships with service leads and Directors, helping them to reap the benefits of our business partnering approach.
Lead on budget setting, financial monitoring, and strategic planning for a portfolio of specialist services covering both capital and revenue.
Lead on consolidating the overall financial position on all council services for budget setting and monitoring purposes and to update the Medium-Term Financial Strategy.
What We’re Looking For
A fully qualified CCAB accountant (or equivalent) with a strong track record of continuous professional development.
Proven ability to build effective business partnering relationships and deliver customer-focused services.
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Extensive experience in financial management within complex organisations.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex financial data and regulations.
A proactive, flexible, and innovative mindset, with a commitment to continuous improvement.

Salary£52,413 - £56,782 (CPB8) and £56,782 - £63,079 (CPB9) per annum (City Pay Band 8 progressing to Band 9).
LocationFlexible – working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices, or working from home. You will be able to work mainly from home and balance your work location according to need.
