Pay: £450 - £500 Day Rate (Umbrella)
Role Purpose
Morson are partnering exclusively with a major utilities business based in Coventry to appoint an Interim Finance Business Partner on an initial six-month assignment. This role will support the Bioresources division within Customer Operations, a critical area of the business responsible for delivering both commercial and operational performance.
As Interim FBP, you’ll play a key role in providing high-quality financial modelling, forecasting, and investigative analysis. Working in a fast-paced and high-volume environment, you will identify cost drivers, challenge performance issues, and deliver insight that enables senior stakeholders to make informed decisions. Alongside this, you’ll drive process improvements, cost planning, and efficiency initiatives, ensuring finance remains a true business partner across the division.
Key Responsibilities of the Finance Manager:
- Develop and deliver accurate financial models, forecasts, and cost plans to support decision-making.
- Conduct investigative analysis to identify the root causes of performance issues, providing actionable recommendations.
- Deliver robust cost analysis and support implementation of changes to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
- Support month-end close, variance analysis, and performance reporting across multiple cost centres.
- Engage with and challenge stakeholders constructively, ensuring financial and operational accountability.
- Drive process improvement and continuous improvement within finance and the wider business.
- Provide ad hoc financial modelling, scenario analysis, and insight on risks and opportunities.
- Ensure deadlines are consistently met in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
What we are looking for:
- Fully or part-qualified accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) or equivalent finance qualification.
- Strong finance experience in a business partnering role, ideally within a large, complex organisation.
- Proven track record of modelling, forecasting, and financial analysis.
- Experience investigating and resolving business performance issues.
- Ability to provide insight that drives cost control and process improvement.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build credibility quickly.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial systems (SAP ECC / BI desirable).
