Your day involves providing expert guidance on complex regulatory matters while overseeing our comprehensive compliance framework. You''ll collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement compliance strategies that protect our organization while enabling business growth. As the Group Data Protection Officer, you''ll lead our data privacy initiatives, ensuring our 5,000-person workforce maintains the highest standards of data protection across all jurisdictions. You''ll balance addressing routine compliance matters efficiently while driving forward strategic compliance initiatives that align with our new operating model.How You''ll Make an ImpactLead the development and execution of APCOA''s group-wide compliance strategy, ensuring standardization and cohesion across all European operationsServe as Group Data Protection Officer, providing expert oversight of all data privacy compliance matters across multiple jurisdictionsIdentify compliance risks and implement appropriate controls and mitigation strategies to protect APCOA''s reputation and operationsManage and efficiently resolve compliance breaches and reports, from routine operational matters to complex regulatory issuesDevelop, review, and update compliance policies with a focus on standardization across the groupProvide strategic compliance advice to senior management and the Board, with particular focus on private equity governance requirementsLead investigations into potential compliance breaches and coordinate with regulatory authorities when necessaryManage the compliance team and coordinate with regional compliance officers to ensure a consistent group-wide approachDesign and implement effective compliance training programs, with emphasis on data protectionConduct periodic compliance risk assessments and develop improvement plans to continuously enhance our compliance postureWhat You BringQualificationsAdvanced degree in Law, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar in-house compliance leadership roleStrong background in data privacy law and regulations (GDPR, national data protection laws)Experience working within private equity-backed organizations with understanding of PE governance requirementsProven track record of developing and implementing compliance programs across multiple jurisdictionsIn-depth knowledge of European regulatory frameworksProfessional compliance certification preferred (e.g., CCEP, CIPP)Skills and CompetenciesStrategic thinking with exceptional analytical abilities to navigate complex regulatory landscapesStrong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels and drive group-wide alignmentExcellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with stakeholders at all levelsSound judgment when managing high-volume, routine compliance matters while maintaining strategic focusAbility to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical business solutionsDeep expertise in data privacy regulations with the capability to serve effectively as Group DPODemonstrated integrity and high ethical standardsCrisis management expertise and strong conflict resolution skillsBusiness acumen to balance compliance requirements with organizational objectivesEfficiency in managing routine compliance matters while advancing strategic initiativesAbout the TeamAt APCOA, we see beyond the parking space.
