Provides high-quality patient careConduct surgery, telephone and video consultations, plus occasional home visitsLiaise with colleagues and external providers to ensure seamless careInvestigate and refer patients appropriately, in line with guidanceReview results and correspondence promptlyProvider cover for colleagues when requiredCollect and review data for audit and QOF purposesMaintain excellent communication with patients and carersAttend clinical, governance and educational meetingsWork collaboratively and effectively within the teamManage your own workload and resources effectivelyAttend required training events and feedback sessionsReport and follow up on significant eventsAbout us

Duty Dr Support of skilled ANP team providing on the day urgent care coverLow GP visit numbers - Complex Care Team/Community Matrons who cover visitsDaily coffee break and weekly MDT meetingsOur teams consists of:-4 GP partners, 1 Managing partner6 ANPS7 Nurses and 5 HCAsComplex Care Team; 3 Community Matrons, 1 Paramedic and 1 Admiral Dementia Nurse2 Clinical Pharmacists and 3 TechniciansExperienced Dispensing Teams at both sitesSocial PrescribersFantastic Reception/Admin/Secretarial SupportTeaching Practice for VTS/FY2s/Cambridge and UEA Medical StudentsJob responsibilities
Provide high quality patient care including prevention, screening, treatment, management of chronic conditions and health promotionDevelop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice protocols, as well as wider guidance eg NICECarry out surgery, telephone and video consultations and undertake home visitsSpeak to and see patients promptly and in a timely manner, in order to minimise waiting timesEnsure appropriate follow up of patientsGenerate, check and sign acute and repeat prescriptions, in line with Practice policyTransfer patients, where appropriate, to the repeat dispensing systemLiaise with other team members and organisations involved in patient care and respond promptly to queriesInvestigate and refer patients as appropriate, in line with current guidanceDeal promptly with results and correspondence, clearly communicating any actions that are requiredProvide cover as needed, for all of the above, when other GPs are on leaveWhen providing care ensure the judicious use of resources and NHS fundsKeep clear and contemporaneous computerised consultation notes and patient records to agreed standards and in line with Practice policiesCollect data for audit and QOF purposesPrescribe generically whenever appropriate and in accordance with the Practice formulary, commissioning and national guidanceMaintain high levels of communication with patients and carers to ensure effective delivery of careConfidentialityIn the course of seeking treatment, patients must entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff with respect their privacy and act appropriately. As a GP, you will have access to confidential information relating to patients and their carers. You may have also have access to information relating to the Practice as a business organisation. All such information from any source is to be regarded as strictly confidential. Qualifications
A vocational trained and accredited GP, preferably MRCGP current registration with the GMCExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work as part of a multi-disciplinary teamAbility to work with limited supervisionIT proficiency and familiarity with primary care systems (the Practice uses TPP SystmOne)Exceptional team playerGood understanding of GMS contracting requirements and QOFGood understanding of GMS contracting requirements and QOFQualifications
A medical practitioner whose name is included in the General Practitioner Register under article 10 of the General and Specialist Medical Practice Order 2003Not subject to suspension under section 41A of the Medical Act 1983Currently on a performers list and not suspended from that list or from the medical registerAccredited as a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP)Competent user of TPP S1Experience
In Practice as a General Practitioner/Locum Practitioner or ST3Commitment to and experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary and skill mixed team environmentExperience of working to achieve standards with the QOF frameworkExperience supporting service changesSkills and Attributes
