Police officers and staff will experience up to 600 traumatic events during the course of their career and up to one in five may be suffering from the effects of untreated PTSD or complex PTSD. Working independently from the government and police forces Police Care UK is the national trauma support charity that supports serving and veteran police officers and staff, volunteers, and their families who have suffered any physical or psychological harm as a result of policing.
