We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioners to join our Primary Care team atHMP Thameside. HMP Thameside is a category B remand prison located in South East London, close to Plumstead and Woolwich Arsenal stations. The prison houses around1,232 patients with a variety of needs including substance misuse and mental health. Within this role you will be working in a busy healthcare environment, where no 2 days are the same. Ideal applicants will enjoy working in a fast paced role and have previous experience with substance misuse prescribing. In addition applicants with a keen interest in delivering training and development for junior prescribing staff would be welcomed to this role.

Main duties of the job

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You willDeliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldnt usually experience within a practice, or even AandE environment.Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having activeinvolvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.If you are interested in career development, we have a wide range of opportunities for you to develop your skills and experience, which include both internal and external options for development and learning.

Qualifications required
