Job Title: Day-to-Day SEN Teaching Assistant
Pay rate: £95.68 – £98.24 per day
Location: Birmingham
Hours: Flexible – part-time or full-time (term time only)
Smart Education is currently recruiting for Day-to-Day SEN Teaching Assistants to work across a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN) Schools in the Birmingham area.
This is the perfect opportunity for candidates who are looking for flexible work to fit around other commitments, want to gain more experience in SEN schools, or prefer part-time hours. You will support pupils with a variety of needs, including MLD (Moderate Learning Difficulties), PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties), SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), and Autism (ASC).
Driving licence and access to a car is a real advantage, as you will have the flexibility to travel to schools across Birmingham.

Job requirements:
• Minimum of 6 months UK experience working within an SEN school setting
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching and Learning (or equivalent) preferred
• A valid Child or Child/Adult DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to process one)
• Ability to travel to different schools – driving licence and access to a car advantageous
• Passionate about supporting children with additional needs
Role responsibilities:
• Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
• Assisting the class teacher with daily activities
• Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in learning
• Supporting pupils’ personal development and well-being
• Providing flexibility and reliability to support schools at short notice
