Nelson Permanent Placements are currently recruiting for a Multi Trader to join a friendly and supportive construction company as a Customer Service Maintenance Operative. This is a field-based role covering various sites across the East Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced multi-skilled operative to work within a customer-focused environment, delivering high-quality remedial and maintenance work across both active and completed developments.

The key responsibilities of this role as a Multi Trader:

• Provide a high level of customer service and aim to resolve issues on the first visit.
• Carry out a range of repair and maintenance tasks to a high standard.
• Complete jobs efficiently, ensuring customers are satisfied and sign off the work.
• Plan your daily workload to make the best use of time and materials.
• Attend scheduled appointments on time with all required materials.
• Carry out general snagging and remedial works from instructions or drawings.
• Protect customers’ homes while working and leave areas clean and tidy.
• Report any risks or issues to the relevant person.
• Maintain your company vehicle, tools, and equipment in good condition.
• Work closely with site teams and support where needed.

Qualifications and skills of a Multi Trader:

• At least 4 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Strong skills in carpentry, plaster patching, silicone work, decorating, and basic plumbing.
• Good all-round knowledge of construction and maintenance.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Good organisation and time management.
• Ability to solve problems and pay attention to detail.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements.
• Basic IT skills for using job systems or devices.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Professional appearance and attitude at all times.

The employment package for a Multi Trader:

• Salary of £39,000 – £42,000 per year.
