Sous Chef andndash; School / Healthcare Setting (Enhanced DBS Required)

Hours: Flexible, Monday to Friday

The Role

As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting the Head Chef in delivering safe, healthy, and delicious meals for students or residents. Youandrsquo;ll help lead the kitchen team while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Head Chef with daily food preparation and service
• Ensure all meals meet dietary, nutritional, and allergen requirements
• Maintain high hygiene standards across the kitchen
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering
• Train and support kitchen assistants/porters
• Oversee cleaning schedules and ensure compliance with food safety regulations
• Step up to run the kitchen in the Head Chefandrsquo;s absence

What You Need to Work With Us

To join us in a school or healthcare kitchen, you will need:

• Enhanced DBS Certificate (Child Workforce) andndash; essential
• Right to Work in the UK
• At least 6 monthsandrsquo; experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie in a fast paced kitchen
• Two employment references
• Food Hygiene andamp; Safety Certificates (must include Level 2 or above)
• Strong understanding of allergen management
• Excellent timekeeping and leadership skills
