The Advisory Department is led by Josh Myerson and comprises 5 teams: Valuation and Asset Advisory, Development Advisory, Rating Advisory, Residential Valuation Advisory and Strategic Advisory. Advisory comprises over 130 experts across all 3 national offices. Projects can range from problem solving with valuation at its core to strategic development advice, asset management, rating strategies and innovative valuations across sectors.Advisory focuses on extracting and unlocking value, interpreting policy to maximise benefits for clients, supporting critical thinking to improve asset performance and simplifying complex problems to create solutions.The Team

This role sits within our Valuation and Asset Advisory (VAA) team, comprising 24 Registered Valuers and contributing approximately £7.25m (>10%) to the Partnership’s turnover. It includes Specialist Valuation, Commercial Valuation and Asset/Investment Advisory workstreams. The team offers services including asset valuations, purchase and disposal reports, option appraisals, secured lending valuations, credit reports, feasibility assessments, portfolio strategy support, overage and clawback assessments and expert witness advice, with a core focus on valuation. The team has ambitious growth plans to meet increasing demand.The Role

VAA is seeking an exceptional and enthusiastic Surveyor / Senior Surveyor to join its Specialist Valuation workstream. The role covers a wide range of public and private sector clients, including large-scale mandates such as the NHS PS portfolio and other government and local authority work, as well as private sector clients like McDonalds, Premier League clubs, and other property companies requiring specialist and cash-flow oriented valuations.This is a unique opportunity to develop new skillsets within the specialist valuation sector while also gaining exposure to more traditional commercial asset classes. Responsibilities include the following:Being challenged with a wide variety of complex valuations for purposes such as financial reporting, acquisition and disposal.Representing the firm at networking events and actively developing client relationships as part of the team’s business development objectives.Becoming an Advisor to clients, offering high-quality consultancy services that foster lasting relationships and repeat instructions.Contributing to the firm’s growth by collaborating with other Montagu Evans departments (Development, Planning, CAA) and expanding cross-service opportunities.Receiving industry-leading training from experienced valuers and Partners involved in RICS valuation policy development.Working within a transparent fee-earning system with clear targets contributing to VAA fee targets.Main Duties, Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesUndertaking valuations within the Specialist Valuation team, including depreciated replacement cost valuations, development appraisals, cashflow models and investment valuations.Preparing high-quality Red Book valuation reports and written advice for clients.Carrying out property inspections and measurements.Liaising directly with clients to provide progress updates and discuss valuation rationale.Keeping up-to-date with office, retail and industrial market activity through research and market liaison.Driving the team’s business development, attending networking events and client entertainment activities.Assisting with training and development of junior colleagues and support for APC preparation.Working collaboratively with other Advisory teams and the wider business.Any additional duties as reasonably requested.Desired Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications

MRICS qualified and an RICS Registered Valuer.Enthusiastic, self-motivated and proactive; solution-orientated; good listener with the ability to act expeditiously.Strong attention to detail and high service delivery standards.Committed, organised and a team-player with a sense of humour.Working knowledge of Argus Developer and Enterprise software; excellent Microsoft Excel and related software skills.Seniority level
