cybersecurity professional in HVDC , you will be part of a department responsible for design of our automation system of the plants and transmissions. We design control cabinet layout, interfaces, IT security, and related infrastructure. Our system also includes user interfaces such as HMI (Human Machine Interface) and diagnostic tools and IT security; we utilize our in-house developed real-time MACH platform.This is mainly an office-based role in central
Glasgow . Please note we are unable to provide visa support on this position.Responsibilities
Leading system, network, and cybersecurity implementations in HVDC projectsBuilding complete infrastructure of networks and systems to support operationsEnsuring systems and networks contain defined levels of cybersecurityDevelop architecture and functional descriptions for functions / solutions for future HVDC in cyber security technologiesPrepare and perform test case scenarios and participate in FSTSupport projects in resolving issues related to cyber security functionsCoordinate with different stakeholders across the business units to get inputs to optimise the cyber security solutions in HVDCDesign and develop a secured network architecture for SCADA system with advanced cyber security featuresEvaluate/ monitor third party security patches to ensure that reliability of the system is maintainedImplement the security features provided by device and system vendorsEstablish strong controls over any medium that is used as a backdoor into the SCADA networkImplement internal and external intrusion detection systems in the SCADA networkPerform VAPT and technical audits of SCADA devices and networks, and any other connected networks, to identify security concernsConduct physical security surveys and assess all remote sites connected to the SCADA network to evaluate their securityMaintain the test environment with updated software and hardware for current and future useBackup/ Image handling on servers and workstations and patch managementActively contributing to identifying and capturing opportunities for improvementWork together with our customers, both internally and externally, to ensure our delivery is according to their requirements and standardsCollaborating and networking with engineering colleagues, sharing best practice across different projects and disciplinesYou will have the opportunity to travel abroad and participate in building some of our many power stations around the worldYour background
You hold a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or the equivalentVerbal and written communication skills, fluent in English and comfortable in customer discussionsNetwork equipment (firewalls, switches, GPS clocks) and redundant network designs and protocolsMicrosoft client- and server operating systems (virtual and bare metal) from legacy to current generationsExperience with Active Directory and the different roles, integration with third-party devices and appliancesExperience with databases and high-availability solutionsExperience with scripting languages and automation technologiesExperience with port-, vulnerability-, and malware scanners, able to digest and communicate the outputKnowledge of intrusion detection systems, security information event monitoring, application control and other security-relevant systems is a major plusDataBase Management/SQLExperience in SCADA projects will be an added advantageHMI with InTouch application developmentBackup/ Image handling on servers and workstations and patch managementExposure / Basic Knowledge in International electrical (IEEE/IEC) StandardsBasic Knowledge on C/C++ is an added advantageExperience in establishing controls over any medium that is used as a backdoor into the SCADA networkHitachi Energy is a global technology leader in electrification, powering a sustainable energy future through innovative power grid technologies with digital at the core.
