Job Purpose The Head of Art will lead and manage the Art Department, delivering high-quality teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. The role involves inspiring creativity, fostering artistic skills, and ensuring excellent academic outcomes while promoting a passion for visual arts throughout the school. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management Lead, develop, and manage the Art Department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning Design and implement a dynamic and engaging Art curriculum for KS3 and KS4 Monitor and evaluate student progress, using data to inform departmental improvements Support and mentor Art staff, including performance management and professional development Manage departmental resources, budgets, and classroom environments effectively Teaching and Learning Plan and deliver high-quality Art lessons that engage and challenge students of all abilities Teach a broad range of artistic techniques, media, and art history Prepare students for GCSE Art examinations, ensuring strong outcomes Use assessment strategies to track progress and provide constructive feedback Maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
