Contract Type: Full-time, Long-term
Rate: GBP90 - GBP120 per day (dependent on experience and responsibilities)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
About the School:
We are collaborating with an outstanding special needs school in Leeds, dedicated to supporting students with a variety of special educational needs (SEN). These include autism, learning disabilities, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. The school prides itself on providing an inclusive, nurturing environment where students can thrive and reach their full potential, both academically and personally.
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you will be working as part of a close-knit team to support students in overcoming barriers to learning. You will play a key role in ensuring that students receive the tailored support they need to succeed.
As a SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with a range of SEN, helping them to engage with lessons and activities.
Assist the class teacher in delivering personalized learning plans that meet the needs outlined in students'' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Support students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, helping them to develop the skills needed to engage with learning.
Work with the SENCO to implement strategies that promote an inclusive classroom environment.
Encourage students to develop their confidence and independence in their learning.
What Were Looking For:
Experience working with children with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
A caring, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting students with additional needs.
A genuine passion for working in education and helping students overcome their challenges.
The ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual students'' needs.
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
To be eligible, you must:
Have the Right to Work in the UK.
Have an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service OR be willing to apply for a new one.
Provide two professional child-related references.
