Trainee Quantity Surveyor

Trainee Quantity Surveyor East London Permanent £25,000 - £30,000 DOE IMMEDIATE STARTING OPPORTUNITY Reporting to the Commercial Manager the main purpose of the role is to lead and manage the commercial team working within your allocated portfolio of multidisciplinary light rail projects from inception through to final account and close out, to deliver maximum commercial results. Responsibilities Assist the Commercial Manager and Quantity Surveyors in day-to-day commercial tasks across projects. Support in preparing contract documents such as specifications, drawings, and basic bills of quantities. Help monitor project budgets and cost tracking under guidance. Assist in identifying project risks and opportunities, supporting the team in recording and reporting them. Aid in collecting and organising data for monthly cost reports and forecasts. Support the procurement process by gathering quotes and helping with supplier engagement. Learn how to record and notify contractual changes or variations under supervision. Assist in processing applications for payment and reviewing subcontractor invoices. Develop an understanding of construction contracts and how they impact project delivery. Take part in team meetings, learning how commercial decisions are made and communicated. Skills/Experience required A degree in quantity surveying or a related field accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Working knowledge of finance systems and various forms of con
