We are recruiting for a full-time B5/B6 post in our Community Paediatric OT Service. The post holder will be based in Bury St Edmunds and cover community patches across a wider geographical area. Much of the working week will be spent working in the community.The post holder will be based with other OTs and work within a multi-disciplinary team and other therapy services to deliver OT pathways and packages of care. We continue to review and develop our clinical care pathways with active staff involvement, valuing evidence-informed practice and outcome measures.The post holder will:Undertake Occupational Therapy assessments of children, prioritise, plan, and develop a programme of OT intervention using a client-centred approach, in accordance with our clinical pathways, with supervision and support from a Band 7 therapist.Set clear functional goals in consultation with parents and teachers.Empower parents and carers to understand their child''s disability or dysfunction, its impact on behaviour and function, and activities and strategies to develop their child''s play and functional abilities at home.We offer a strong internal supervision structure with regular CPD and training opportunities, including access to external courses.We are looking for an experienced OT at Band 6 or someone keen to develop their skills in paediatrics within a supportive team (Band 5). Please specify in your supporting information which banding you are interested in.The successful candidate will need good communication skills and a strong desire to work in community paediatrics, with relevant experience preferred.
