This local business who are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to support them on a 3 month temporary contract. The role will require someone who has experience across purchase ledger, sales ledger and nominal ledger.
Job Description:
- As the Accounts Assistant you will match, input and post purchase invoices into the invoice register and purchase ledger accurately
- Review the Finance worktray and bulk post invoices that have been approved
- Review worktray report for any discrepancies and resolve
- Review supplier statements investigating and resolving any discrepancies
- As the Accounts Assistant you will generate a weekly payment run; liaising with relevant signatories to arrange availability for authorisation / sign off
- Ensure a remittance advice is issued to all suppliers with every payment that is made
- As the Accounts Assistant you will raise sales invoices, review debtors report weekly to ensure payments are received promptly and any issues a resolved
- Issue statements to debtors
- Allocate income to invoices
- Nominal Ledger
- Bank reconciliation
- General ledger posting
- Experience of maintaining a finance function including sales ledger, purchase ledger and cashbook
- Previous experience within housing and knowledge of services charges would be an advantage
- Previous experience dealing with multiple cost centres would be ideal
- Experience of working with computerised finance packages
- Experience of communicating professionally and competently to resolve queries
- Experience of working to deadlines
- Strong numerical, logical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly at all levels
- High degree of accuracy in work undertaken and strong attention to detail
- Knowledge of windows-based software including word, excel, MS Office
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple work requests with little supervision using own initiative
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with an ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication & presentational skills- oral, IT and written to serve differing audiences.
