Policy Manager (Safety) Hours - 0900 - 1700 five days a week Salary - in the range of £55,000 per annum Location - London Bridge The UK Chamber of Shipping is the trade association and voice for the UK shipping industry, with over 200 members from across the maritime sector. We work with Government, Parliament, international organisations and others to champion and protect the UK shipping industry on behalf of our members. We are now seeking a Policy Manager (Safety) to join our Policy Department. Overall Aim The Policy Manager will promote safety within the UK Chamber of Shipping membership, providing strategic input on future safety policies, keeping members informed of technical and regulatory safety developments, and managing the Chamber''s position on marine planning and conservation within UK jurisdiction. Key Responsibilities: Act as the Chamber''s expert on safety, covering technical, process, equipment and operational measures across all sectors of membership. Lead and manage safety-related working groups, initiated either by membership or internally by the Policy team. Represent the Chamber in the UK delegation to the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) for the Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) and its sub-committees and working groups (e.g. CCC, HTW, SDC, SSE, NCSR). Represent the Chamber on nautical safety matters, including SOLAS and VTS remits. Engage in wider maritime safety policy areas, such as the Port Marine Safety Code. Attend relevant Maritime and Co
