Advert TextThis is a Fire Safety Advisor role joining the established Corporate Health and Safety Team on a 12-month fixed term contract. You will work alongside three experienced Health and Safety Advisors, reporting to the Corporate Health and Safety Manager.

The role involves working collaboratively with colleagues from other teams, including Facilities Management and Schools, to support Merton''s Fire Safety arrangements. A strong background and experience in fire safety are required, along with a willingness to attend the Civic Centre and other locations throughout Merton Borough to conduct audits and inspections of the Council''s premises, including schools.

You will assist the Corporate Health and Safety Manager in implementing Fire Safety policies and procedures, updating the Fire Safety arrangements, and delivering training to staff across the council. Advising on fire safety responsibilities and fostering a positive safety culture are key functions of this role.
