Lead and support a team of midwives, ensuring compassionate, evidence-based care.Develop and implement service strategies that align with national guidelines and local needs.Promote and deliver high-quality, safe, and person-centred maternity services within the community.Build strong relationships with families, offering guidance and support at every stage of pregnancy, birth, and postnatal care.Drive quality improvement projects to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide seamless, integrated care.Provide leadership, participate in perinatal governance forums, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.What we are looking for

Essentials: Registered Midwife; evidence of personal and professional development; leadership/management course or equivalent.Desirable: Masters degree/equivalent postgraduate experience.Experience: Relevant and recent experience in community midwifery services; line management and leadership; multidisciplinary working; change management; dealing with complex issues.Knowledge: Current perinatal issues; National Maternity and neonatal agendas; knowledge of NMC rules; involvement in audits; understanding of perinatal governance and human factors.Other: Ability to travel across trust sites; sensitivity to diverse cultural, religious, and emotional needs; ability to participate in senior midwifery on-call rota.Key skills: Leadership and team building; excellent written and verbal communication; motivational and influencing skills; good report writing; managing difficult conversations.Details
