Our clients are re-investing in their assets to ensure they meet current and future capacity needs.To support this growth, we are seeking a Principal Airport Planner to join our team. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver aviation services to airport owners/operators, airlines, and transportation agencies globally. Our aviation specialists provide fully integrated services and have the technical skills to handle a wide range of aviation projects, including local, national, and international developments.We are open to locations across Manchester, London, Basingstoke, or Croydon, with a hybrid working pattern. Here''s what you''ll do:Report to the Aviation Advisory Team leader and collaborate with team members across all levels, from graduates to Directors, as well as with global design teams.Lead and contribute to projects such as airport masterplans, facility planning, capacity and demand analysis, and simulation modelling for domestic and international projects.Manage projects, build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders internally and externally.Prepare proposals and support bid development for projects of varying sizes.Support the technical development of junior team members.Be willing to travel domestically and internationally as needed.Current and upcoming projects include:Delhi Airport Master PlanBrussels Airport Master PlanLondon Luton Airport Limit (LLAL) Masterplanning and DCO applicationSouthend Airport Feasibility PlanningLeeds Bradford Airport PlanningGuernsey MasterplanAlderney Airport developmentMasterplanning for three Indian airportsExtensive work for UK Military projectsQualifications and experience required:Degree in aviation, planning, or civil engineeringChartered or near-chartered membership of a professional institutionExperience in airport capacity assessment and familiarity with ICAO and IATA standardsProficiency in modelling software such as CAST, AviPlan, and AirTOPExperience with AutoCAD, ideally Civil 3DStrong communication and project management skills, with client-facing experienceAt AECOM, we celebrate diversity and welcome applications from all backgrounds.
