 An exciting opportunity awaits a talented Senior Or Principal transport planner in Manchester. Join a leading, employee-owned consultancy renowned for its innovative solutions and supportive work culture. The role involves leading transport planners, delivering complex projects, and shaping solutions for multimillion-pound schemes.

The project work would be cross-sector, with potential involvement in residential, industrial, healthcare, town/city centre mixed use, energy schemes etc. Projects range from small scale (<£10k fee) to large scale (up to £100k fee).

One of these consultancies main selling points is our diversity of projects in terms of sector and scale. There would be the opportunity to work with big names like Peel and Bruntwood, as well a wide range of developer and landowner clients. Also, some public sector clients too – GM Boroughs, the NHS etc

This employee-owned consultancy specializes in the built environment, with over 300 employees across 14 UK offices. A strong commitment to employee well-being and professional growth drives their success. The Manchester office comprises of 10 transport planners, from graduates to technical leaders.

Key Responsibilities:

- Technical Expertise: Prepare Transport Statements and Assessments, Travel Plans, and transport sections of Environmental Statements.
- Project Leadership: Oversee tasks and projects, ensuring clear communication within the team.
- Client Interaction: Represent the company in meetings with clients, planners, architects, and contractors.
- Design Contribution: Assist in developing site access designs and masterplans, considering all transport modes.
- Quality Assurance: Adhere to the company’s Quality Management System (QMS) in all projects.
- Resource Allocation: Manage project resources effectively to ensure efficiency.
- Training and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and training to Transport Planners and Graduates.

Key Requirements:

- A relevant degree (or equivalent) and actively working towards a professional qualification.
- Extensive experience as a Transport Planner, preferably in a consultancy setting.
- Ability to manage multiple client expectations and contribute effectively to project meetings.
- Commercial awareness with a basic understanding of project finances.
- Strong numerical skills, data analysis capability, and proficiency in junction modelling software such as JUNCTIONS and LinSig (or equivalent).
