This role sits at the heart of their data function, helping to design and evolve a modern, scalable data platform that will underpin key business decisions and digital products for years to come.As Data Architect, youll be the technical authority for how data is structured, integrated, and governed, working across engineering, product, and business stakeholders to shape and deliver the long-term vision for enterprise-grade data architecture.Design and implement scalable database solutions, conceptual and logical data models, and metadata-driven pipelinesOwn the full data lifecycle from initial design and ingestion to governance and performance optimisationLead architectural direction across the platform, helping the business move from legacy to future-state infrastructureEnsure GDPR/data compliance, security, and high-quality documentation are baked into all data solutionsInfluence and guide on best practices in data modelling, platform strategy, and pipeline designSupport analytics and digital product teams through robust architecture and integration patternsDeep focus on Microsoft Azure and associated services: Azure Data Factory, DataBricks, CosmosDB, Azure SQLStrong usage of SQL Server and modern data warehouse/lakehouse design (preferably Databricks-based)Data modelling using Kimball and/or Data Vault methodologyExperienced with both structured and unstructured data environmentsExperience with MDM, data lineage, data cataloguing, and enterprise metadata managementFamiliar with Agile, SCRUM, and project frameworks like PRINCE2Proven experience as a Data Architect or Lead Data Engineer in enterprise or complex environmentsHands-on data modelling to at least 3NF, with a deep grasp of integration and warehousing designBe the architectural linchpin in a major data transformation journeyEmployment type
