OverviewValue Education are recruiting for a Young Offender Behaviour Mentor to work with young people aged between 11 and 17 who are receiving their education in a Pupil Referral Unit setting in the Bolton area.
The role of a Young Offender Behaviour Mentor is to support young people to access education, as they will often be very disengaged from school-life. This is an opportunity to make a difference to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, some of whom may have suffered major trauma.
Responsibilities
Support young people to access education within a Pupil Referral Unit setting.
Provide guidance and support in both classroom settings and in their social and emotional development.
Assist in creating a supportive learning environment to improve engagement and attendance.
Requirements
Be resilient.
Have an in-date Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.
Be able to demonstrate empathy.
Having previous experience working with children.
Have a passion to change young people''s lives for the better.
Have an understanding of Social, Emotional and Mental Health Issues.
